OM Maximenu Installationa and Configuration

Installation was just like any other module, figuring out how to get it working was a challenge. I ran into the following problems and came up with a solution.

Each OM Maximenu should manage a specific menu type. I started with the primary navigation, or main menu. The sub-links need to be served by a block. This makes possible the use of images in your menus because the block content is served as the sub menu. Drupal core menus are served as blocks so, I  chose to start by creating new menus for each top level grouping of content. Content | Support Center | Forums | Etc...
Style the top level links the local.css:

Drupal Performance Tuning Modules

The first step in improving performance is to enable Drupal's built-in caching: Configuration > Performance

Set Minimum cache lifetime and Expiration of cached pages options to rebuilt system caches and keep Drupal up-to-date with data stored in the cache and the data stored in the database. Caching can expose the system to cached data being out of sync with data stored directly in the database.

Additional Performance related projects to consider depending on usage scenario.

Media File Rendering (PPT, PDF, etc)

Rendering PPT and PDF directly in a web browser - in a popup preview window rather than having to download the files first.

Want to avoid having to convert to SWF. Prefer HTML5 rendering.

Drupal CRM Implementations

CRM Core is a suite of modules for providing CRM functionality natively within Drupal. Built using the Entity and Fields API, it is designed to be an extensible system for tracking contacts and relationships that can be customized and fully integrated with other components within your CMS. It is entirely possible to build a Drupal site that just tracks contacts using this module.

Drupal Apache Solr Search Platform and Integration

Apache Solr
SolrTM is the popular, blazing fast open source enterprise search platform from the Apache LuceneTM project. Its major features include powerful full-text search, hit highlighting, faceted search, near real-time indexing, dynamic clustering, database integration, rich document (e.g., Word, PDF) handling, and geospatial search. Solr is highly reliable, scalable and fault tolerant, providing distributed indexing, replication and load-balanced querying, automated failover and recovery, centralized configuration and more. Solr powers the search and navigation features of many of the world's largest internet sites.
